From Grief to Growth: an Inspiring Journey of Healing
Marie Alessi transformed the grief from personal tragedies into a mission of healing. Discover how her book "Loving Life after Loss" and TEDx talk bring hope and happiness back after a tragic loss.
Remember my little series introducing professionals from my network nearly every Friday?
Today I‘m sharing about meeting Marie Alessi 🌺 as the 47th guest in my #42coffees series in the French La Renaissance patisserie in Sydney’s old town, The Rocks.
Marie‘s life turned upside down when her husband Rob passed away at the age of 45 from a brain aneurysm, even a year younger than her father who left her far too early when she was 20.
One day Rob said at a hypothetical discussion: „If something was to ever happen to me, I would want you to create the happiest life possible for you and the boys!“
When that day of his sudden passing came, she wanted to follow his wish and decided to help others with their journey through tough times.
Marie wrote her important book „Loving Life after Loss“ within five weeks to support readers with healing from grief.
Quoting her lines: „Overcoming loss is a journey. Healing takes more than just time, it needs a decision that you want to heal.“
The reception of the book turned into her „Loving Life after Loss“ movement with 5000 people following her stories and connect from heart to heart.
Five years later she transitioned from that movement to become a keynote speaker.
Marie‘s mission is to talk about healing more than we talk about pain, especially grief. With her generosity of spirit she helped changing the life of thousands to bring back happiness.
When I intended to write these lines, I faced a situation of grief as well when one of my mates passed away with an undiscovered health condition.
Reading through Marie‘s work and remembering our coffee conversation helped me to enter the grief period.
Please follow Marie and watch her highly recommended TEDx talk „Redefining our Image of a Widow“.
One of your family members and friends will thank you for the connection one day.
Thank you ❤️
